This precious love note, ain't so precious anymore,
Broken promises, lay around, shattered on the floor,
Nothing left for me, this is just now over and done,
You said we'd walk together, but now alone I run.

Torn to shreds, above my head,
I never thought that it would be this way,

why couldn't anything stay together?
